Chris Allen is an active musician and educator in White Bear Lake, MN. You can regularly find him performing with The Paper Clips, Mankato Symphony, Century Jazz Ensemble, Star of the North Jazz Orchestra, and Metro Brass.
As a freelancer, Chris has played with the Bill Simenson Orchestra, Minnesota Jazz Orchestra, Lake Wobegon Brass Band, Sheldon Theatre Brass Band, St. Paul Civic Symphony, and Compass Rose Brass Ensemble among others. Chris' primary teachers include Scott Moore, Larry Zimmerman, and Tom Ashworth. He has been fortunate to take additional lessons with Andy Chappell, Douglas Wright, Henry Charles Smith III, Michael Levine, and Achilles Liarmakopoulos. He has also participated in masterclasses with Randall Hawes, and Terry Leahy. He completed undergraduate coursework at Gustavus Adolphus College, and some graduate coursework at the University of Minnesota. |
